Tide It 6.2.7 In review at Apple

October 2026

On the Tide It curve, an orange band “Gusts at 46 kn” joins two kitesurf GO windows
The bridge between two GO windowsWhen a window splits in two, the band between them says why: “Gusts at 46 kn”, “Light wind · 9 kn”, “Offshore wind”… Orange with ⚠ when it's about safety, grey when there's just not quite enough wind. Tap it: a bubble gives the time slot, the figure that cuts it, your threshold and when the window resumes.
Shore fishing settings in Tide It: minimum coefficient and the forager's rules
Shore fishing, in ActivitiesTick “Shore fishing”: Tide It gives you the daytime low tides above your minimum coefficient (70 by default), from 2 h before to 1 h after low tide — so you're back up the beach before the water returns. And it lets you know the day before.
Tide It alert presets with the new tide icons
Alerts in the Tide It line styleAlert presets have their own icons, drawn like the curve: the coefficient in three steps, high and low tide, water height, before and after the tide.

Shore fishing

A new activity to tick: low tides with a good coefficient, in daylight, with the time slot to be on the flats and back up before the water returns. A heads-up the day before, with an adjustable minimum coefficient.

Wind and surf for everyone

Wind and Surf modes are now open to everyone for the next 48 hours. The full week, live wind and the spot view stay with Premium.

Between two GO windows

When a window is broken up by gusts or wind that's too strong, Tide It says so ("Gusts at 46 knots"), on the curve and in the Activities week.

Plus a few finishing touches.

Tide It 6.2.6

October 2026

More measured wind

New stations right by the water, in mainland France and overseas (Caribbean, French Guiana, Réunion, Mayotte, Polynesia, New Caledonia): real wind, updated every 6 minutes.

Spots that depend on the Tide

On spots you can only ride at certain stages of the tide (Andernos – Le Betey: from 3 h before to 3 h after high tide), GO windows and alerts now take it into account. Adjustable in Activities.

More accurate real wind

A station up on a hill, or across a bay, is no longer shown as your spot's wind.

Plus a few finishing touches.

The wind map, right away

When it opens straight in Wind mode, the map shows the animated wind again, and the droplet reads the right value.

October 2026 · Is it on, around you

“is It on?” around you

Get notified as soon as a rider on the spot says it's on within 20 km of you, even at a spot that isn't in your favorites. Your location stays on your device: nothing is sent.

Clearer reports

When riders don't all say the same thing, each report is shown with its number of votes: one kiter's “wild” is no longer drowned out by three “normal”.

A livelier wind map

Wind stations are back on it, in purple, the color of measured wind: the real thing next to the forecast. In the Foam theme, the wind trails and colors now read as well as in dark mode.

Alerts that really ring

An alert that combines tide and wind, like a fishing trip, now rings with your phone in your pocket, based on the forecast wind, exactly as the preview says. Wind alerts are also checked in the background, and on all your spots, not just the one on screen. New “Daytime only” option: no more notifications at 4 a.m.

Also

On Apple Watch, “Is it on?”: riders' reports on the spot page, and voting on the spot in three taps. In the calendar, swipe up or down to change month, and tap the month title to jump straight to a date. The welcome tour now introduces “Is it on?”. On iPad in portrait, “Is it on?” appears right on Today. On the places map, labels now show names only: tap a spot for all its details. A more polished loading bar. In Wind and Surf modes, the screen focuses on wind and waves: the tide stays on the curve. On iPad, a redesigned portrait layout, and in Surf mode the week's wind and swell can be scrubbed just like in Wind mode. The spot view in Surf mode now uses the Wind mode's wind arrow.

October 2026 · Spots all over the world

New countries

Ireland, Great Britain, Japan, the United States (California, the East Coast, the Gulf of Mexico, Oregon, Hawaii), Croatia, Turkey, Poland, Sweden, Norway and Austria join Tide It, and Germany is filled out: more than 1,900 kite, wing, windsurf and surf spots in all.

Real wind, further afield

New wind stations in the United States, Poland and Austria, and more reliable national stations.

Right GO windows everywhere

On coasts with small tides, such as the Mediterranean, the water depth needed for kite, wing and foil now adapts to the spot's tidal range: good slots are no longer wrongly ruled out.

And also

A small bell next to the spots that notify you (an active alert or GO notification). The wind map shows "Forecast unavailable" instead of searching endlessly when the weather service is overloaded. On iPad, Ports & spots explains why distances are missing without your location. The map's Favorites manager opens and closes as it should.

Wind mode, rethought

Below the curve, the spot view: the forecast wind and the wind measured by the nearest station, laid over the satellite view, with the sector where the wind blows offshore. Above it, a verdict for your sport and your wind range: Good conditions, Too light, Too strong or Offshore wind, plus your next GO window. Slide your finger across the whole week. On iPad, a six-hour zoom around the time you are reading. (Premium)

Surf mode, rebuilt

A rating for every hour, matched to your level: Flat, Poor, Fair, Good, Very good or Too big. Wave size on the body scale, the best slot of the day, and the spot view with each swell in its own colour. Night hours get no rating, and a swell that cannot reach the spot is never called good. Along the bottom of the main curve, swell and wind every three hours. (Premium)

Spots everywhere

Over 1,100 kite, wing, windsurf and surf spots in France, and more than 220 kite spots in 14 countries: Tarifa, Dakhla, Egypt, Brazil, South Africa… Opening a kite, wing or windsurf spot is free. New wind stations in the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. On a lake, the wind curve sits on flat water; and where no reliable tide exists near a spot, Tide It says so instead of making one up.

Simpler

On first launch, pick your spot; a short tour shows you the essentials. GO windows highlight their best slot. The calendar starts with the current week. The Live Activity follows the curve's mode: tide, wind or surf.

On iPad

Each mode shows its own information, and in portrait everything fits on one screen, no scrolling.

And also

A smoother curve, a more visible sun arc, and lighter calculations that go easy on your battery.

October 2026 · iPhone Duo

On iPhone Duo

Closed, Tide It fills the whole screen. Open, the tide stays on the right while the map, your spots, the calendar or your activities open on the left, over one shared backdrop. And next to another app, Tide It fits neatly on its half of the screen.

Plus everything from 6.1

Is it on? Is it surfable? On site, say in one tap how it's going; everyone else sees it right away. A notification as soon as it's on at one of your favorites. Spot details: satellite view, wind from the station and swell from the buoy (Premium), the riders' reports and the tide. Public spots, suggested by riders, in magenta on the map. The Seafoam light theme and icons drawn for Tide It. A redesigned Live Activity, and the "Is it on?" badge in widgets.

On iPad, the map no longer freezes when you pick a station.

October 2026 · Is it on?

“Ça ride?” in Tide It
“Ça ride?”What riders on the spot say, live, no account needed.

Not sure whether to head out? Ask the riders who are already there.

Is It on? is It surfable?

On site, say in one tap how it's going: not on, mellow, normal or wild for the wind; flat, small, nice swell or big for the waves. Everyone else sees it right away, with how many riders said so and how long ago. A report lasts three hours and can only be given on site. It's the riders' word, never mixed with the forecast or the measurements. Free, no account, and your location never leaves your device.

Know as soon as it's on

Turn on "When it's on at my favorites" in the app's settings: as soon as a rider on site says it's on at one of your favorite spots within 150 km (90 mi), a notification tells you. Tap it and the spot details open.

Spot details

One page per spot: a satellite view of the place, the wind from the nearest station and the swell from the buoy (Premium), the riders' reports, the tide right now, today and tomorrow at a glance, and the coordinates to get there with Maps, Google Maps or Waze.

At a glance

In your favorites, a badge shows how many riders have reported, in the color of their report.

Your spots, for every rider

When you create a custom spot, you can suggest it to all riders: it's checked by default. It appears for other riders once two riders have confirmed it on site. Only its name, location and tide settings are shared. Something looks off about a spot? Report it from its spot details.

On the map

Public spots show up in magenta. Stations become circles in the color of the wind, with the speed in the middle, and swell buoys join the map with their measured height.

A fresh look

The light theme has been redesigned and is now called Seafoam: seafoam-colored backgrounds, navy ink, ocean blue for the rising tide and lavender for the falling tide. Choose it in Settings > Appearance. Kitesurfing, wing, kitefoil and the "Is it on?" and "Is it surfable?" levels get their own icons, drawn for Tide It, and icons are sharper everywhere.

On the lock screen and in widgets

The Live Activity has been redesigned: on the Lock Screen, a bigger tide curve with high and low tide marked right on it; in the Dynamic Island, wind and tide side by side. And the "Is it on?" badge comes to the Tides, Wind and Surf widgets: how many riders reported and what they said, at a glance.

And also

A more compact spot menu. On iPad and Mac, spot details open right in the right-hand column of Today. On iPhone, Ports & spots now shows only your favorites, and syncing them across your devices is more reliable: a favorite you remove stays removed.

Tide It 6.0

October 2026 · the complete ecosystem for riders.

Tide It's wind map
The wind mapThe next 7 days of wind along the whole coast, animated.
Tide It's GO windows
GO windowsYour best slots of the week, sport by sport.

The most ambitious release in Tide It's history, built around one idea: bring everything that makes or breaks a session — tide, wind, swell, daylight — into a single, accurate system, designed end to end for you. On iPhone, on iPad, on Mac and on your wrist.

The wind map

Seven days of forecast wind, animated in real time: streaks that flow with it, a veil colored by its strength, and a time slider to move hour by hour. Drop the water drop on a spot and read the wind that will blow there. Finding the windiest stretch of coast this week now takes a single glance.

Alerts that think like you

Build your alerts like rules: wind speed and direction, water height, tidal coefficient, time around the tide, sunrise or sunset — all conditions met, or any one of them. A live preview of the next seven days shows exactly when the alert would fire. And it fires at the right moment: the instant your conditions come together.

Your GO windows, reimagined

The whole week at a glance, sport by sport, tuned to your level. Tap a window for the hour-by-hour detail, then find it right on the curve.

A full year of tides

The calendar now looks twelve months ahead. Every day carries the color of its coefficient and its high tides; the day view draws its curve, the spring and neap cycle, the moon and the sun. Swipe the curve and the days roll by.

Reality, not just the forecast

Wind measured by the nearest station, with the age of every reading. Swell recorded by the buoy, shown next to the forecast. Tides computed on the device, even offline. Nothing is ever made up: when a value is missing, it simply isn't shown.

One ecosystem, one subscription

• iPad: Tide It takes the big screen, with a sidebar, the tide curve front and center, and your modules right beside it.

• Mac: a true Mac app, covered by the same subscription.

• Widgets: a new large size with today's curve, hourly forecast wind, and every widget opens straight to the right spot.

• Apple Watch: measured wind, forecast wind and swell for surf spots, on your wrist.

And a wealth of details

A clean, crystal-clear seven-day weather view. Search that covers the whole catalog, surf spots included. Place your own spots with a long press on the map, synced to the high tide of their reference port. Times follow your device's format. And the app is easier on your battery: its animations pause the moment they are out of sight.

Free on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.
