Test Tide It on Android
The Android app is coming to Google Play. Before it launches, Google asks for it to be tested by a dozen riders for two weeks. Join them: it's free, all you need is an Android phone and a Google account.
Two steps, both required: join the testers group, then open the “Become a tester” link on Google Play. Without the second one, Google doesn't count you as a tester.
1.Join the testers group
With your phone's Google account. Only we can see your address.
Even simpler: send us your phone's Gmail address, we'll sign you up ourselves and reply as soon as it's done.
2.Install the app from Google Play
Already have the test version (the APK file)? Uninstall it first: Google Play can't install over it and only says “Can't install”.
Required, even if you've already joined the group. Once you've signed up, open this link on your phone, accept to become a tester, then install Tide It from Google Play. Allow a few minutes between signing up and Google Play recognising you.
Same Google account everywhere. The Play Store account on your phone must be the one that joined the group (Play Store ▸ your picture at the top right to switch accounts). If Google Play says your device isn't compatible, email us your phone model at [email protected].

3.Keep it for two weeks
Keep the app installed for at least 14 days and open it now and then: that's what Google checks before allowing the launch. And tell us what's wrong or what you like: [email protected].
What you get
The full app, the same as on iPhone: the tide curve, the wind measured by nearby stations, GO windows, surf mode and the wind map. Premium is free for 15 days, as with every new install.
Good to know
- Android 10 or later.
- Updates come through Google Play, like any other app.
- You can leave the test at any time from the same Google Play page.
